
The Muskegon Area-wide Plan (MAP) is a unique partnership of local governments,
citizens, business leaders, and policy-makers working together to create a vision and strategy to guide future growth and development in Muskegon County.
The MAP provides a forum for consensus on a common vision and the policies necessary to reach that vision.
The Implementation Phase of the MAP project is in full swing! An Implementation Committee has been formed to begin tackling the many goals,
objectives, and implementation strategies identified in the MAP. To achieve this, the Regional Commission and the MAP
Implementation Committee have established and continue to welcome new members to five sub-committees which are:

The MAP document was officially unveiled to the public on April 19, 2005 and was followed by a series of week long events intended to maintain and garner public, private, and
local government support for the plan. The MAP document is downloadable in sections from the links below and is also available in a CD version by contacting the Regional Commission.
A DVD of the MAP video, depicting the planning process, is also available by contacting the Regional Commission. The DVD includes many interesting facts about the MAP and Muskegon County and concludes with interviews
with several local leaders in the community.

The sub-committees are responsible for working on the tasks specified under each of the five vision areas identified in the MAP.
