The Region 6 Homeland Security Governing Board’s Planning Committee is responsible for developing a policy and providing a forum for the completion of planning tasks required by the federal and state governments.

Planning is conducted by both County Planners and Regional Coordinators. County plans are integrated into a regional plan.

Planning activities include local risk and vulnerability assessments, resource management, and the creation of a Regional Response Plan. The Planning Committee also reviews alert and notification systems, interoperable communications plans, mutual aid plans, and others.
